Peer Review Process

The Journal of Islamic Entrepreneurship and Business Research (JIEBR) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of published research.

  1. Initial Submission Check

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure compliance with the journal’s focus, scope, and formatting requirements. The following aspects are checked:

  • Relevance to Islamic entrepreneurship and business research
  • Compliance with ethical research standards
  • Adherence to journal guidelines and formatting requirements
  • Plagiarism check (using plagiarism detection software)

Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without further review.

  1. Double-Blind Peer Review Process

If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is assigned to at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer review process, where:

  • Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors
  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers

The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Theoretical and methodological rigor
  • Clarity and coherence of arguments
  • Adherence to ethical research principles
  • Quality of data analysis and interpretation
  • Relevance of findings and implications
  1. Reviewer Recommendations

Based on their evaluation, reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept without revision (only minor editorial changes needed)
  • Accept with minor revisions (authors need to revise the manuscript before final acceptance)
  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required, and the manuscript will undergo another round of review)
  • Reject (manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal)
  1. Author Revisions

If revisions are requested, authors must:

  • Address all reviewer comments systematically
  • Provide a point-by-point response to each comment
  • Resubmit the revised manuscript within the given timeframe

The revised manuscript may undergo further review if significant changes are required.

  1. Editorial Decision

After considering the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision:

  • Accepted: The manuscript is approved for publication.
  • Accepted with minor revisions: The manuscript is accepted, but final revisions must be completed before publication.
  • Rejected: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards.
  1. Copyediting and Proofreading

Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes:

  • Copyediting: Ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to academic writing standards.
  • Proofreading: Checking for typographical, grammatical, and formatting errors.
  1. Publication

The final, approved manuscript is published in the Journal of Islamic Entrepreneurship and Business Research and made available through open access. Authors receive a notification once their article is published online.

This structured peer review process ensures that JIEBR maintains high academic and ethical standards in all published research.
