Publication Ethics

The Journal of Islamic Entrepreneurship and Business Research (JIEBR) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity in research publication. All parties involved—authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher—must adhere to the following ethical principles:

1. Duties of Authors

  • Ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, free from plagiarism, and have not been published elsewhere or under consideration by another journal.
  • Properly cite all sources and give appropriate credit to referenced works.
  • Accurately present research findings without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest and sources of funding that may influence the research.
  • If errors are discovered in a published article, notify the editor immediately and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions if necessary.

2. Duties of Reviewers

  • Maintain confidentiality and not disclose any information about the submitted manuscript.
  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback to improve the quality of the research.
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Alert the editor about any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical concerns related to the manuscript.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest that might affect their ability to provide an unbiased review.

3. Duties of Editors

  • Make fair and unbiased decisions on manuscript acceptance based on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or affiliation.
  • Ensure that all manuscripts go through a rigorous double-blind peer review process to maintain research quality.
  • Keep all information about submitted manuscripts confidential and only disclose information to those involved in the review and publication process.
  • Take appropriate action in cases of research misconduct, including plagiarism, falsification, and unethical research practices.
  • Work to correct or retract published articles if ethical violations or errors are identified.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • Ensure that publication decisions are based on editorial independence and are free from commercial influence.
  • Support the journal in addressing ethical concerns and investigating allegations of research misconduct.
  • Maintain the long-term preservation of published content through appropriate archiving policies.

By adhering to these publication ethics, JIEBR aims to foster academic integrity and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Islamic entrepreneurship and business research.
