Allegation of Research Misconducts

Yaalmada: Journal of Research and Islamic Studies is firmly committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in academic publishing. We take all allegations of research misconduct seriously and handle them with fairness, transparency, and confidentiality.

Definition of Misconduct

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Fabrication: Making up data or results and recording or reporting them.

  • Falsification: Manipulating research materials, equipment, processes, or changing/omitting data or results.

  • Plagiarism: Appropriating another person’s ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.

  • Redundant publication: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publishing the same research in multiple venues without proper acknowledgment.

  • Improper authorship: Excluding legitimate contributors or including individuals who did not contribute significantly to the work.

  • Failure to disclose conflicts of interest or funding sources.

Procedure for Handling Allegations

  1. Initial Assessment: When an allegation of misconduct is reported, the editorial board will conduct a preliminary review to determine whether the allegation has merit and is within the journal’s scope.

  2. Investigation: If warranted, a full investigation will be initiated. The corresponding author will be contacted and given the opportunity to respond to the allegations.

  3. Outcome:

    • If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, including correction or retraction of the article, informing the author’s institution, and banning the author from future submissions.

    • If misconduct is not confirmed, the matter will be closed and documented confidentially.

  4. Transparency: The journal will publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as needed, according to COPE guidelines.
