Reviewer Guidelines

Thank you for agreeing to review a manuscript for Yaalmada: Journal of Research and Islamic Studies. Your expertise and feedback are essential to maintaining the scholarly quality and integrity of our journal. Please review the following guidelines to assist you in the review process.

1. Confidentiality

All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents. Do not share, discuss, or distribute any part of the manuscript with others unless explicitly authorized by the editorial board.

2. Objectivity and Fairness

Please provide an objective, unbiased, and constructive evaluation of the manuscript. Avoid personal comments and focus on the content, quality, and academic contribution of the paper.

3. Review Criteria

Evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance: Is the topic relevant to Islamic studies or the journal’s scope?

  • Originality: Does the manuscript offer new insights, approaches, or findings?

  • Academic Rigor: Is the research methodologically sound and clearly described?

  • Clarity: Is the article well-organized and clearly written?

  • Contribution: Does the manuscript contribute meaningfully to scholarly discourse in Islamic studies?

4. Review Recommendations

After evaluating the manuscript, please select one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions needed)

  • Reject

Please provide clear justifications for your recommendation, especially if revisions or rejection are suggested.

5. Comments to Authors

Provide constructive feedback that helps the authors improve their work. Be specific in identifying areas of strength, weakness, and suggestions for enhancement. Comments should be respectful, professional, and detailed.

6. Comments to the Editor

You may provide confidential comments to the editor regarding any concerns that may not be appropriate to share directly with the authors (e.g., suspicion of plagiarism or ethical issues).

7. Ethical Considerations

If you suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical misconduct, please report it immediately to the editorial board.

8. Timeliness

Please complete your review within the agreed timeframe (typically 2–4 weeks). If you are unable to meet the deadline, inform the editor as soon as possible so alternative arrangements can be made.
