Author Guidelines

Yaalmada: Journal of Research and Islamic Studies welcomes high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the scholarly understanding of Islamic studies and related interdisciplinary topics. Authors must adhere to the following guidelines when preparing and submitting their manuscripts.

1. Manuscript Types

We accept original research articles, literature reviews, conceptual papers, case studies, and book reviews related to (but not limited to):

  • Qur’anic and Hadith Studies

  • Islamic Law and Jurisprudence

  • Islamic Theology and Philosophy

  • Islamic Education

  • Sufism and Islamic Spirituality

  • Islamic Economics and Finance

  • Contemporary Issues in the Muslim World

  • Interfaith and Cultural Dialogues in Islam

2. Language

Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscript professionally edited prior to submission.

3. Formatting and Structure

  • Use APA Style 7th Edition for references and citations.

  • Manuscripts should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, double-spaced, on A4 paper.

  • Word count: Between 5,000 to 8,000 words (excluding references).

  • All pages must be numbered consecutively.

Structure of the Manuscript:

  • Title (no more than 15 words)

  • Abstract (150–250 words) and 3–5 keywords

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (if applicable)

  • Methodology

  • Findings and Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

4. Abstract and Keywords

Include a concise and informative abstract in English (and Indonesian if manuscript is in Bahasa). Abstract should state the purpose, method, main findings, and conclusion.

5. Authorship and Affiliation

Provide full name(s), institutional affiliation(s), ORCID ID (if available), and corresponding author’s email. All contributors must have significantly participated in the research and writing process.

6. Originality and Plagiarism

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. All submissions will be checked for plagiarism using appropriate software. A similarity index exceeding 20% may result in immediate rejection.

7. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. If you are a new user, you must register before submission.

8. Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Authors are expected to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback. The final decision lies with the editorial board.

9. Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors retain copyright and agree to publish their work under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

10. Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to ethical research standards and disclose any potential conflicts of interest or funding sources.
