Publication Ethics

Yaalmada: Journal of Research and Islamic Studies is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and to preventing any form of academic misconduct. The journal follows the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The following statements describe the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication process: the author, the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, the peer reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, free from plagiarism, and have not been published elsewhere.

  • Authors must accurately report the results of their research and provide sufficient detail for others to replicate the work.

  • All authors must be properly credited and have significantly contributed to the research.

  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest or financial support related to their research.

  • If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obligated to notify the editor and cooperate in the retraction or correction of the article.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript's importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Editors must ensure a fair and unbiased peer review process and must not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research.

  • Editors must take appropriate action when ethical complaints are raised concerning a submitted or published manuscript.

  • Editors must preserve the anonymity of reviewers and ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback to assist the editor in making editorial decisions.

  • Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and must not use information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.

  • Reviewers should notify the editor if they detect any potential conflict of interest or ethical concern in the manuscript under review.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining the integrity of the academic record.

  • The publisher ensures that best practices in ethical publishing are followed and will work with the editorial team to investigate and resolve any claims of misconduct.
