Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Yaalmada: Journal of Research and Islamic Studies undergo a rigorous and double-blind peer review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and relevance of the submissions.

  1. Initial Screening:
Each submitted manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to assess its relevance to the journal’s scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and overall quality. Manuscripts that do not meet basic criteria will be returned to the authors without external review.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review:
Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The identities of both the authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to maintain objectivity.

  3. Review Outcomes:
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, methodology, clarity, scholarly contribution, and significance to Islamic studies. The possible decisions include:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)

  • Reject

  1. Revision and Resubmission:
Authors are given a specified time to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation.

  2. Final Decision:
The final decision on acceptance or rejection is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.

  3. Plagiarism Check:
All accepted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening using appropriate tools to ensure academic integrity.

The entire review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the responsiveness of authors.
